My school has been no help at all when it comes to finding scholarships or pointing me in the right direction. It’s so frustrating to keep finding scholarships that have been open for a year, which means they probably have tons of people applying. Does anyone know of any really specific or low competition scholarships? Or any other ways to get funding? I need about $2,000 to cover my spring semester gap.
Try looking for scholarships in your town, county, or state. Also, check ones for your major, the college you want to go to, or anything related to your high school. There are a lot of very specific scholarships out there.

I’ve been out of high school for a while now, but I’ll check for history-related scholarships. I think I’ve already tried looking for local ones and haven’t had much luck so far.

You might still qualify for some high school-related scholarships, but I’m not sure. Worth double-checking just in case!
Check with your department at school. Sometimes they have scholarships just for their own students. Professors might know about these and can help too.

My school has a foundation scholarship, but the application doesn’t open until December 1st. Also, my professors are really bad at replying to emails, so asking them has been a struggle.
I don’t think so. Most scholarships have lots of people applying.
