Hey everyone, I need some advice. While looking for scholarships, I found two different websites that required essays to be submitted to the same email address (ereiss@consultwebs-email.com). These websites are unrelated, but they share this email, and I noticed they all have the same application deadline. I did a quick Google search, and it turns out a lot of other scholarship sites also use this email.
Is this normal, or does it sound like a scam? Any help would be appreciated!
I’ve seen something similar with a scholarship that seemed too good to be true. For example, https://afidavit.com/home/. If this is real, then good luck to anyone who applies, but it seems off.
Always do some digging to see if the company or organization is legitimate. Google their name, look for their services, or check if they have a profile on something like BBB. For instance, if it’s a law firm, check their website for active blog posts, lots of detailed pages, or certifications. Be cautious to make sure your efforts aren’t wasted.
Here’s an example of a fake scholarship: https://abbottandfenner.com/. It’s been flagged by others as fake, even though it might look real.
@Talon
Should we assume all law firm scholarships are fake then? I’ve applied to a few, and now I feel like my effort might’ve been wasted. Why would someone make fake scholarships in the first place?

Not all are fake. For example, there’s a law firm called Rosen & Ohr in Florida, and they offer a scholarship for enrolled college students. I’ve seen emails from them sent to school counselors asking for more applicants. They even posted essays from past winners on their site, so it seems legit.
