So I signed up for this $1,000 scholarship on this forum, and somehow I won? I had to fill out a DocuSign with a ton of personal info, which made me super uncomfortable. I don’t see a lot of people talking about this, so I’m wondering if anyone else has been through this.I had to give them my bank info, social security number, birthday, driver’s license photo, home address, and signature. I guess this was to prove I’m a real person and to send me the money. EDIT: They also had me fill out a W-9 form where I had to enter my social security number. I forgot to mention that, but it wasn’t too hard to fill out.Just submitted everything, so I’ll update if this was legit or if I got played. If you have any questions, I’ll try to answer, but I don’t know everything. Please pray my identity is safe!
They’re probably selling your info to advertisers. Sites like these make a ton of money that way.
Congrats on winning! Hope it’s legit!
Wait… people actually win these scholarships???

Yep! You should give it a shot sometime!
This is normal. I’ve won a couple of scholarships before, and they asked for the same stuff. Just verifying you and running background checks.
Are you planning to freeze your credit with all three bureaus? That way, no one can use your social security number to open a credit card in your name without you knowing.
