Has anyone actually won a scholarship from websites like scholarships.com or bold.org?

I know there have been posts like this before, but most of the answers are just “I think they’re legit?” Has anyone here actually won anything from these sites? I don’t want to waste time applying if they’re not worth it. Thanks!

I haven’t won a scholarship from Bold yet, but I’m in a group chat with others who share scholarships they’re applying for. It helps to boost chances, especially for the ones that require nominations. I have seen people win, but it’s competitive. If you want to join and see what others are saying, let me know!

Could I be added too?

I’d like to join as well.

Bold.org is legit, but since so many people apply, your chances of winning are low unless you apply for smaller, essay-based scholarships that fewer people compete for. I’d recommend following ‘Finesse Your Education’ on Instagram—they post tips that helped me win scholarships from sites like these.

A lot of the scholarships on these sites are basically lottery-style, meaning grades and essays don’t really matter—it’s just random selection. If a scholarship asks for detailed information or an essay, it’s likely merit-based or need-based. I haven’t used scholarships.com in a while, though. Lately, I’ve been searching for scholarships directly instead of using aggregator sites.

Yes, there are real scholarships on these sites, but most just compile lists and direct you to apply on external sites.

Honestly, it feels sketchy. Seems like just a way to get ad revenue. I need scholarships to afford college, but I don’t know where to look.

Nope.

I’ve been in college for three years now, and I’ve never won a scholarship from these websites.

Which ones would you actually recommend?

No.

They seem really sketchy to me too. I applied on both, but they just redirect me to other links and websites. It’s so confusing, and I’m stressing out trying to figure out where to apply.
