How can I find scholarships with a 2.8 GPA and no test scores?

I am a second-year college student with a 2.8 GPA and no SAT or ACT scores. Are there any scholarships I can apply for? I’m also wondering if my background could help me qualify for certain scholarships.

My father, a veteran, recently passed away from cancer, though it wasn’t the cause of death. He had knee injuries that led to his honorable discharge, and I believe his disability rating was between 20-30%, though I’m not sure of the exact percentage.

I am of African-American and Japanese descent, and I’ve heard that might make me eligible for minority scholarships.

Any tips for finding scholarships that are less competitive and don’t require being academically at the top would be appreciated. Thank you so much for any advice!

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your father. :frowning:

There are scholarships for students who have lost a parent. You can find some options here.

Check with your college first, then look into your city, county, and state for scholarship opportunities. Sometimes local organizations offer scholarships too.

Look into professional organizations that are related to your degree. Many times, these groups offer scholarships for students pursuing that field.
