iIs Scholarship Owl worth its salt?

Hey folks,

I’ve heard about Scholarship Owl as a tool for finding and applying for scholarships, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Has anyone used it? How effective is it at helping you find relevant scholarships and manage applications?

Would love to hear about your experiences or if there are any alternatives you’d recommend!

Thanks…

Most people agree that Scholarship Owl is a helpful resource for locating and applying for scholarships. It arranges your applications, offers a database of scholarships, and gives advice on how to increase your prospects.

I signed up for ScholarshipOwl and filtered for the highest scholarships. One of them is the $15K Eon Essay Contest. To enter, you need to read a 300-page book and write an essay. However, while ScholarshipOwl says you only need to be at least 13 years old, the official contest website clearly states that the age limit is 24 years.

Did they leave out this important detail on purpose, or was it an honest mistake? And why was this the first mistake I encountered?

That depends on you.

I just checked this out. Some sites claim they’re legit, but it’s tough to know for sure. They seem to apply for lots of scholarships on your behalf, but you have to pay a monthly fee. I don’t know if it’s really worth it, and I might not even qualify for most of the scholarships.

I’m using this site because, as an international student, I can’t get most scholarships directly from colleges. A scholarship advisor suggested this site and a few others. I’ve probably tried all the sites and apps out there for finding scholarships. I’m waiting to hear back, and if I get any scholarships, I’ll let you know!
