How intimidating are the Truman Scholarship interviews, really?
Not gonna lie, they had me sweating bullets. Imagine meeting these important folks who know everything about public service, then they start firing questions! But hey, guess what? I also got to talk about my passion project for helping veterans, and it felt amazing. So yeah, maybe intimidating at first, but totally worth it to show them what makes you tick.
From what I’ve read, the interviews are meant to be tough and see how well you do when you’re under a lot of stress. No matter how well you plan, things will still go as planned in the end. They’ll look at all parts of your application because it’s an all-around process. You can’t say what could have been if you don’t do it. If you try it and fail horribly, you will still learn a lot from it.
