I’m a senior in high school in NJ and planning to study medicine next year in college. My parents are middle class, and I’m worried I won’t get enough financial aid to cover my tuition. I’m not sure where to begin looking for scholarships or which ones might be right for me. I’m Cuban and want to major in molecular biology if that helps.
The best advice I’ve gotten is to sign up for every scholarship you qualify for. Niche scholarships are great. Also, check with your parents’ employers; they might offer scholarships too. You could also try to find ones specifically for Cuban students wanting to go into STEM. Some good places to search are state-funded scholarships or ones tied to the college you’re planning to attend.
