I’ve already done everything I can for scholarships at my private university but it’s still not enough. Tuition is way too high and I don’t know where to turn now. Does anyone have advice on where to look for more help?
First mistake was going to a private school. Sorry but true. I made the same mistake, it was free for two years and then jumped to $60k a year. Maybe try transferring to an in-state school. You’d get a better degree and it would be way more affordable.
Go to a cheaper university. Probably a public one.
If it’s too much, one option is transferring to a state school. Some states have scholarship programs like OSAC or CSAC, but also look for local organizations such as clubs and businesses offering scholarships. You could also try searching for scholarships related to your interests, like ‘music scholarship Washington’ or just search your city and state, like ‘San Francisco California scholarships’.
I’d also like some help finding scholarships.
Look at professional organizations that match your degree. A lot of times, they offer scholarships too.
Hey… In addition to checking with your university’s financial aid office, you should definitely check out outside scholarships that aren’t tied to a specific school. There are platforms that list scholarships nationwide, including smaller niche awards that have unique eligibility. You should also look into federal programs like Pell Grants or TRIO Programs—they help low-income or first-gen students. Don’t forget about local community foundations or organizations, as they sometimes offer scholarships for students from certain regions or backgrounds. Good luck!
Private scholarships that aren’t tied to the school should be a good option. Also, once you’ve written a few essays, you’ll probably be able to reuse them for other scholarships.

I’ve applied to over 35 scholarships by now
