Scholarship Names Needed

Hi everyone,
I’m a college student funding my education through scholarships since my parents can’t afford it. I maintain a GPA of 3.96 and am involved in several organizations on campus, holding leadership positions.
Despite my efforts, I haven’t had much luck applying for scholarships.
Could anyone share specific scholarship names they’ve successfully applied for or recommend reliable places to search for scholarships? I’m not a fan of sites like Bold.org or Fastweb.
Thanks so much for your help!

My son had some success with scholarships, and I’d like to share a few suggestions. Keep in mind that while some are databases, they vary significantly. I’ve personally used all of these for my son.

I don’t recommend Bold or ScholarshipOwl, and my son rarely pursued no-essay scholarships.

Here are some resources I found helpful:

  • Scholarships.com
  • Scholarship360
  • Fastweb
  • Scholarship America
  • Kaleidescope
  • JLV Counseling Scholarships
  • Discover (they have a large list)
  • Going Merry
  • TUN Scholarships

Additionally, you might want to reach out to Monica Matthews, who offers a monthly list and has an excellent ebook to guide you through the process. Also, Dave the Scholarship Coach at Scholarship GPS sends out daily scholarship updates, offers essay reviews, and is developing a great video course.

Lastly, don’t forget to check professional organizations related to your field of study. They often provide substantial discounts for students and exclusive scholarships for members. My son received one of these scholarships, along with mentorship, networking opportunities, and support for navigating college for two years.

When I was applying for scholarships, I relied on my school counselor for guidance. They typically have information about local scholarships, and since these often have a smaller applicant pool, your chances of winning are higher. Good luck!
