Seeking Scholarships to Cover Books and Remaining Tuition Costs

Hi everyone, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the whole scholarship process and wish I had started earlier. I’m grateful to have Bright Futures, which covers 75% of my tuition, but I’m looking for scholarships to help cover the cost of books and the remaining 25% of tuition.

I start college in September—so is it too late to apply for more scholarships? For context, I scored 1250 on my SATs, and I’ve been an entrepreneur my entire life, working with companies that have paid me well. However, I was hoping to save that money for my first home.

It is not too late to apply for scholarships, even with college around the corner. There are options that can help with your textbooks and remaining tuition:

  • Book & Textbook Scholarships: These cover books and sometimes other expenses. Sallie Mae offers $2,000 monthly, and Niche has a $25,000 “No Essay” Scholarship open to all students.
  • SAT-Based Scholarships: Some schools offer automatic scholarships based on SAT scores, like Alabama State University and Florida Gulf Coast University.
