Transfer Scholarships

As an NY resident who previously attended a SUNY school on almost a full ride, I disliked it and am eager to leave NY. I’ve been eyeing the University of Minnesota for a while and thought about moving there for a year to establish residency. However, I’m eager to get back into the classroom sooner.

Does anyone have recommendations for finding transfer scholarships? Is it too late to apply for scholarships for Fall 2024?

Thanks a lot!

It’s great that you’re considering a move to the University of Minnesota! For transfer scholarships, you can start by checking the university’s financial aid website for specific scholarship opportunities available to transfer students. Many universities offer merit-based scholarships that can help ease the financial burden, so be sure to review the criteria and deadlines for each. Additionally, you might want to look into external scholarship organizations, such as the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation or the Transfer Student Scholarship offered by organizations like the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. While it may feel late for Fall 2024, many scholarship applications can be submitted as late as spring or even summer, so don’t hesitate to reach out directly to the university’s financial aid office for guidance on available scholarships and their timelines. They can provide insights on what options you might still have for funding your education. Good luck!
