Hey. Let me paint a picture.
You have 5 young adults competing to get into an Ivy League college, let’s say Harvard. As you know Ivy Leagues don’t give sports scholarships. Now they will have to look at individual brilliance

All of them are brilliant. Now at some point, Harvard will maybe make a scorecard and rate each one’s academic and extracurricular involvement. Let’s say they might choose to analyze SAT results, personal essays, and school referrals and say community involvement.

Usually, the best student among the five will be chosen on merit. And now comes the word merit-based scholarships
