Looking for ways to get a scholarship without making life too complicated. Any tips that actually work?
Honestly, just apply to as many as possible. Doesn’t matter if they seem random or small.

I saw a video where someone treated applying for scholarships like a full-time job, spending 40 hours a week sending applications. They applied for everything, even the small ones, and eventually had their entire tuition covered.
My father-in-law’s company had a scholarship for anyone working with metal. One year, an artist who worked in brass applied, and they just gave it to him because no one else had applied in years.
Also, my Masonic Lodge hands out $1000 to pretty much anyone remotely connected to the lodge. If the security guard’s neighbor’s kid applied, they’d get it.

A little positivity, I like that.

It’s solid advice! The first few applications are a lot of work, but once you have your materials ready, you can reuse them with small edits.
Also, if it’s for postgraduate studies and requires a research proposal, choose a topic that stands out. It doesn’t have to be what you actually end up doing—most scholarships don’t hold you to it.
If you can, find people who won similar scholarships before. They might have insights on what worked for them.
@Lilyherper
I’m actually looking for postgraduate opportunities, so this is really helpful.

This is the best approach. So many scholarships go unclaimed because no one applies.

If there’s an essay, make it personal. The easiest ones are usually about your goals or why a topic matters. Something like ‘why mental health is just as important as physical health’ works well.
What’s the easiest skill to get really good at?

Good question. Any ideas?

Something you actually enjoy.
There used to be a scholarship program where top essay writers got a full ride, and they could pick a friend to get half of their tuition covered. I made it to the final round but lost in the interview process. Meanwhile, my brother got a scholarship just for being friends with someone who won.

No, it was only in my state. But it might exist elsewhere.

Sadly, I’m not in your state.
State scholarships are usually the easiest to get. Some only require good high school grades. There are also scholarships for being a first-generation college student, attending the same school as your parents, or being part of a specific community. If you’re already working in a field, your employer might even help pay for school.
One thing—apply for government scholarships as early as possible. Some are run by the education department, and funding could change.
@Moe
Mass applying it is then.
Join professional organizations related to your field and talk to your professors. A professor recommended me for a scholarship I didn’t even know existed, and I got it. Smaller scholarships from your college or department are often easier to get than big national ones.

I’m already doing this, but still not seeing much progress. Would recommendation letters help?

Absolutely. The more people who can vouch for you, the better. Start conversations with professors, advisors, or even alumni. A strong recommendation can make a huge difference.
